Dutch in Dialog

Case

A German director* of a major corporation was used to getting down to business immediately the coffee was served. During his Dutch in Dialogue training program, he discovered that negotiations in the Netherlands go much more smoothly if meetings remain informal for rather longer. Internal meetings were also helped by a more ‘polderized’ rather than a top-down approach. We were further able to make him aware of how effective word choice and tone of voice can improve results.
